Paschal "Joe" Chiola - December 3, 2004

Paschal "Joe" Chiola, 87, of Minonk, died at 2:50 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, El Paso.

No formal services are planned at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, is in charge of arrangements.

Born April 7, 1917, in Toluca, he was the son of Ercole and Nunzia (Patone) Chiola. He married Romona I. Ganet on Dec. 24, 1941, in Minonk. She died March 31, 2003.

Surviving are a son, Gordon Chiola of Tampa, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Carrie Johnson of Bloomington and Chris Chiola of Loveland, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Minonk, and Minonk Knights of Columbus.

He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War, and was in the Civil Conservation Corps.
